The Beginning
I am positively addicted to making things myself and creating beauty with my own hands. My first encounters with clay were in Tallinn Art School during primary school. After a longer break, I found myself in a beginners' clay circle at Loo village Ajaveski — and I had hopelessly surrendered my soul to clay. I became a regular member of the MTÜ Kolga Keraamika Klubi pottery circle under the guidance of Virve Kerm.
Education & Practice
In the autumn of 2023 I enrolled in the ceramics vocational programme at Vana-Vigala Tehnika- ja Teeninduskool, with the goal of getting to know the material more deeply. Two wonderful years in Vana-Vigala have made it clear that my relationship with clay is only just beginning.
The ERASMUS+ scholarship programme helped me discover the world of French ceramics. I was able to complete part of my second-year internship in Burgundy at Isabelle Talpain's Toucher Terre atelier in Couternon, which in addition to ceramics courses also offers sophrological clay therapy sessions.
Kepler Keraamika
Photography has taught me to notice light, shadow, form, composition and detail. I love to surround myself with objects that have a story — and I believe that through ceramics I can bring those stories to life and share them. I am inspired by beauty, harmony, and a simple minimalist line.
Philosophy
I believe that functional ceramics must be both comfortable to use and beautiful to look at. I make objects that are meant to be lived with — sturdy, honest things shaped with care.
"I want to surround people with objects that have a story."
